Authorized Bible Foundation

Statement of Faith

These are the doctrinal commitments of the Authorized Bible Foundation. They guide the ministry and its projects under pastoral oversight.

Statement of Faith

These beliefs govern authorized ABF ministry work under pastoral oversight. The King James Bible is final authority over this statement and every project conducted under the foundation. The statement expresses the foundation's commitments; it does not replace Scripture or establish a separate church authority.

The Ethical Standards govern conduct, and the Contributor Requirements define affirmation, qualification, and assignment. Projects add the methods and competence required for their work. They may not weaken these foundation standards.

Scripture and the King James Bible

We believe that all Scripture is given by inspiration of God and that God has preserved and continues to preserve His words. We receive the King James Bible as the inspired, inerrant, infallible, and preserved word of God in English, the final authority for faith, doctrine, conduct, and the foundation's work. Its authority is not subject to correction by human scholarship, tradition, experience, or another theological system.

ABF's Bible work follows the King James Bible and its Masoretic, Textus Receptus, and Antiochian textual foundations. Contrary textual readings must not replace or govern the KJB. The KJB ABF Edition, a digital edition of the Authorized Version (AV 1611) based on the Common Cambridge Text, is the foundation's controlled English text. Project rules identify the approved witnesses, evidence, and verification methods for particular tasks. Preservation of a historical artifact does not confer doctrinal or textual authority on its contents.

God's preservation of His word does not depend on ABF. Our responsibility is to handle faithfully what He has given us: to copy accurately, translate faithfully, publish and distribute responsibly, and care for entrusted materials and records. Foundation authority governs our work and its outputs; it does not give us authority over Scripture. Preserving a historical volume, scan, or digital record describes care of that artifact, not the divine preservation of Scripture.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 12:6–7; Matthew 24:35.

God

We believe in one eternal God, the Creator of all things, existing in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. These three are one God. God is holy, righteous, faithful, and worthy of our worship and obedience.

Scripture: Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–3; 1 John 5:7.

Jesus Christ

We believe that Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God, fully God and truly man. He was conceived by the Holy Ghost, born of the virgin Mary, and lived without sin. He died for our sins, was buried, and rose bodily from the dead. His sacrifice is sufficient for salvation, and He lives to intercede for those who come to God by Him. We await His personal, bodily return.

Scripture: John 1:1, 14; Luke 1:26–35; Hebrews 4:15; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 7:25; Acts 1:9–11.

The Holy Ghost

We believe that the Holy Ghost is God. He reproves the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, brings about the new birth, indwells believers, and seals them unto their promised redemption. He glorifies Jesus Christ and leads in truth. No claimed spiritual experience or revelation may be used to overrule Scripture.

Scripture: 1 John 5:7; John 3:5–8; John 16:8–14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 1:13–14.

Man and Sin

We believe that God created man in His own image, male and female. Through Adam's sin, sin and death entered the world. All have sinned and need salvation; no person can establish his own righteousness or escape sin's judgment through personal merit.

Scripture: Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; Romans 6:23.

Salvation and Assurance

We believe that salvation is God's gift, received by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ gave Himself a ransom for all, and the gospel is to be offered to all. Each person is responsible to respond in repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Salvation is not earned by works, baptism, church membership, or ministry service. Good works are the fruit of salvation.

We believe that those who are truly born again receive eternal life and are kept by God. Their assurance rests on His promise and the finished work of Christ. Eternal security does not excuse sin or remove the believer's responsibility to live in obedience to God.

Scripture: Acts 20:21; Ephesians 2:8–10; 1 Timothy 2:4–6; John 10:27–29; Ephesians 1:13–14; 1 John 5:11–13; Titus 2:11–12.

The Church and Its Ministry

We believe that the church is responsible to teach sound doctrine, proclaim the gospel, make disciples, and observe believer's baptism and the Lord's supper. Baptism follows personal faith in Christ and is administered by immersion. The Lord's supper remembers and proclaims His death until He comes. Neither ordinance earns salvation.

ABF serves under Calvary Baptist Church's oversight. Foundation programs and project leadership must respect that authority and the church's responsibility for doctrine, ministry accountability, and publication. A foundation appointment or project role does not replace the church's authority.

Scripture: Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:41–42; Acts 8:36–39; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Ephesians 2:8–9.

Interpretation and Biblical Distinctions

We follow literal, grammatical–historical interpretation that preserves the theological and doctrinal structure already present in the King James Bible. Scripture must be read in context, with attention to who is speaking, who is addressed, and the distinctions the text makes.

We maintain the distinction between Israel and the church as found in the KJB. We preserve prophetic passages, time markers, covenants, and their original distinctions and relationships. Types and figures are recognized where the text warrants them, without displacing its literal meaning. Allegorization must not overturn the plain sense of Scripture.

The foundation's work must preserve the KJB's own wording and distinctions concerning prophecy, covenants, Israel and the church, the kingdom, judgment, and the return of Christ without forcing another theological framework onto the text.

Scripture: 2 Timothy 2:15; Romans 11:25–29.

Christian Life and Witness

We believe that those who belong to Christ should live in holiness, truthfulness, humility, and obedience to God. The gospel calls us to turn from ungodliness, bear faithful witness to Christ, and separate from false doctrine and conduct that compromises biblical truth. Ministry work must reflect these commitments in both its methods and its results.

Scripture: 1 Peter 1:15–16; Titus 2:11–13; Ephesians 4:25; 2 Corinthians 6:14–18; Matthew 28:19–20.

The Return of Christ, Resurrection, and Judgment

We await the imminent, personal, bodily return of Jesus Christ and the gathering of His people unto Him. We believe the KJB's testimony concerning His kingdom, the resurrection of the dead, final judgment, and the eternal state. The promises concerning Israel, the church, Christ's reign, and the resurrections must retain the distinctions and relationships given in Scripture.

There is everlasting life with God for the redeemed and everlasting punishment for the lost. The foundation must teach these truths faithfully and preserve them in its translations and publications. We do not set dates for Christ's return.

Scripture: Titus 2:13; Acts 1:9–11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18; John 5:28–29; Revelation 20:1–15; Revelation 21:1–4; Matthew 25:46; Matthew 24:36.
